Gov. Jim Douglas says a foreign trade mission to Asia was a big success.
The governor led a delegation of government and business leaders on a ten-day trip to Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.
He spoke with Channel 3 News this morning about the trip.
"We signed an agreement with one Korean firm, ANC Bio, to open a manufacturing facility in the Northeast Kingdom and some of the private sector folks who were with us say they got firm commitments for additional investments in their companies, so it was well worth the trip," Douglas said.
Douglas says the federal program known as EB-5 has been a big factor in drawing investment to Vermont. It allows foreign nationals to get two-year visas to the United States if they invest a half million dollars in economically depressed areas.
