A State Senator from Rutland County is retiring mid-term.
Senator Hull Maynard wants to spend more time with his family.
The 75-year-old Republican from Shrewsbury has served in the Senate for 13 years.
The Rutland County Republican Party hopes to send a list of names to Governor Jim Douglas by January. Douglas will have the final say on Maynard's replacement.
