Dartmouth College Facing Big Budget Cuts

Hanover, New Hampshire - November 9, 2009

Big budget cuts and job cuts are on the way at Dartmouth College.

President Jim Yong Kim says a big drop in the school's endowment means a $50 million budget shortfall. The new president says that faculty jobs and financial aid cuts are being considered, among other ideas, to reduce the budget by $100 million.

The Ivy League school's Board of Trustees is asking the administration to slash $50 million from the budget in each of the next two fiscal years.
