Officer Fires Weapon During Chase

Rutland, Vermont - November 9, 2009

A police shooting in Rutland is under investigation.

Rutland City Police Officer Frank Post allegedly fired at a suspect, who fled on foot from a traffic stop. The officer claims 22-year-old Tyshawn Plowden, of Brooklyn, New York, fired the gun during the foot chase.

Plowden got away, but was later arrested at a home in Rutland. He's charged with aggravated assault.

Attorney General Bill Sorrell will investigate whether Officer Post's actions were justified.
