Northfield, Vermont - November 12, 2009
Northfield's famous sock sale will mark a big birthday this weekend.
The annual deer hunting season event at the Cabot Hosiery Mills is 30 years old. Each year, customers line up to get discounts on the Vermont-made socks, with tens of thousands of pairs heading out the door.
Company owner Ric Cabot explains, "We're doing a much better job at getting the crowds in and out. We have a lot more cash registers than last year, and more credit card machines. So the assortment is a lot better for our 30th anniversary and the wait time is less, hopefully, for our 30th anniversary."
The sock sale is four days: November 14 and 15, and November 21 and 22, at Cabot Hosiery Mills in Northfield at 364 Whetstone Drive. Recorded information is available at (802) 485-6066.
