Burlington, Vermont - November 14, 2009
The Ticonderoga Ferry will stay open through December.
Transportation officials in New York and Vermont have reached a deal with the company that will help them install winterizing equipment. The privately run ferry normally shuts down in the fall when the lake starts to freeze, but the company has been running at full capacity to help commuters after the closure of the Champlain Bridge. Ferries will continue to run seven days a week -- weather permitting.
