The UVM cycling club was pedaling for a purpose Saturday afternoon on Church Street.
They're pedaling 24 hours straight to raise money for World Bicycle Relief. The organization provide bicycles to developing nations and disaster recovery efforts to increase mobility and independence in those nations. Usually the club holds the fundraising event in January or February, but they decided to try it a little earlier this year for two reasons, the weather, and the timing.
"We're trying to get the whole while people are in the gift of giving the whole church street shopping crowd which is turning out well so far," said Lee Peter's, a UVM cyclist.
