NEW YORK (AP) - New York City officials say two men have been arrested in a sting operation for selling illegal guns purchased in Florida.

The men are being held pending arraignment on an indictment that charges them with selling dozens of guns to undercover officers during a three-month investigation.

Brooklyn prosecutors say the two have been accused of selling or possessing 46 guns, including 28 semiautomatic pistols, six revolvers, and three sawed-off shotguns.

Detectives purchased 40 guns in four sales. On the fifth sale, they raided a Brooklyn safe house and found six more guns.

NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly says the guns are believed to have been bought in Florida.
