NEW YORK (AP) - Manhattan prosecutors say the Rev. Al Sharpton's daughter told a police officer in a profanity-laden rant that she cut him off in traffic because she had to get to a theater.
Dominique Sharpton and the civil rights activist's ex-wife, Kathy, appeared in court Monday to answer resisting arrest and other charges from an Oct. 30 traffic stop.
Defense lawyer Michael Hardy denies the allegations and says there were no legal grounds for the arrests.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Dominique Sharpton and her 53-year-old mother ignored orders to return to their cars and resisted being handcuffed.
