WINGDALE, N.Y. - State police say two people died in an early-morning house fire in Dutchess County.
Police and firefighters who arrived on the scene of the blaze in Wingdale at 1:30 a.m. Friday found the house fully engulfed in flames.
The intense heat prevented rescuers from entering the house. When the fire was out, firefighters found two people dead in the front foyer.
The victims were identified as the home's residents, 97-year-old John Spenard and 85-year-old Kathleen Spenard. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
