Woman fighting for life after crash

Swanton, Vermont - December 14, 2009

A woman is fighting for her life after a car crash in Swanton Monday night.

Police say Deborah Browe, 60, of Enosburgh, pulled up to a stop sign at the intersection of Pond Road and Route 105. Her car was then rear-ended by another vehicle driven by William Dean, 21, of Sheldon. Browe's vehicle traveled forward approximately 85 feet and then overturned.

Browe is listed in critical condition at Fletcher Allen.

Dean was not seriously hurt. Route 105 was closed for more than an hour.

Police say the crash is under investigation, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
