A Blue Ribbon Committee appointed to study Burlington Telecom will hold its first meeting Monday night.
The committee is made up of three city councilors and four citizens with expertise in finance and telecommunications. The council voted to establish the special panel last week to get more information about the long-term viability of Burlington Telecom and to assess options for refinancing the company's $50 million debt.
The committee will have to work fast; they're scheduled to make recommendations to the city council on January 15, 2010.
