All of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock medical teams in Haiti are safe following Wednesday morning's massive aftershock.
A 6.1 magnitude aftershock rocked the already quake-torn country at 6 a.m. It came just as medical aid was set to reach the region. The extent of new damage or injuries is unknown at this time.
Already on the ground there are two groups of DHMC doctors, nurses and surgeons-- some of whom arrived Tuesday. They're working with an international relief organization and their primary task is performing surgery.
A group of 12 health care workers from Fletcher Allen leave for Haiti Wednesday.
