Pavone pleads not guilty to double murder

Plattsburgh, New York - February 8, 2010

The man charged with double-murder in Clinton County, New York pleaded not guilty.

Tony Pavone allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend, Patricia Howard, and her new boyfriend, Timothy Carter.

At his arraignment last week Pavone tried to plead guilty to murder, but the judge would not accept it.

In court Monday Pavone pleaded not guilty.

He was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation to determine if he is competent to stand trial.
