Federal candidates' FEC filings

Montpelier, Vermont - April 15, 2010

Candidates for federal office filed their latest finance numbers Thursday.

In the race for U.S. Senate, Patrick Leahy is well ahead of his opponents. He has raised $3.6 million and has $3 million on hand.

His Democratic challenger, Daniel Freilich, has raised nearly $46,000 and has spent most of it.

The Republican in the race, Len Britton, has raised over $43,000 and has $7,700 left to spend.

In the U.S. House race, Democrat Peter Welch has raised $524,000, but has nearly $1 million in the bank. He had more than $500,000 left over from his last campaign.

Requests for financial numbers from the two Republican candidates-- Keith Stern and Paul Beaudry-- were not answered.

Raised - $3.6 million

Len Britton:
Raised -$ 43,500
Cash on Hand - $7,700

Daniel Freilich:
Raised - $45,900
Cash on Hand - $4,900

Rep. Peter Welch:
Raised - $524,000
Cash on Hand - $933,400
