Addison, Vermont – May 28, 2010
A Colorado company will be rebuilding the Champlain Bridge. Flatiron Constructors from Boulder won the $70 million dollar contract. The bridge connecting Addison, Vermont and Crown Point, New York was closed in October for safety reasons. It was then blown up in December.
The new bridge will feature wider lanes and sidewalks. Transportation officials say work will start right away. Flatiron is the same company that rebuilt the Minneapolis highway bridge after its devastating collapsed.
