Thursday is a filing deadline for U.S. Senate and House candidates.

In the race for U.S. Congress, Democrat Peter Welch has $1,011,019 in the bank.

The three men vying for the Republican nomination have yet to pull in any significant cash. Paul Beaudry has $5,065, Keith Stern has $8,523 and John Mitchell has spent more than he's collected, showing a negative balance at -$1,131.

In the U.S. Senate race, 36-year veteran Patrick Leahy has $3,290,322 in his war chest. His Democratic primary opponent Dan Freilich has just $1,698. Republican Len Britton has $4,252.
