White River Junction, Vermont - July 30, 2010
A project of presidential proportions is going to a Vermont renewable energy company.
White River Junction's groSolar has been picked to install 120 solar panels at Sidwell Friends School. That's the private Washington, D.C., school attended by President Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia. They'll break ground next month on the project.
GroSolar got involved through personal connections between staff at the company, the school, and a nonprofit group backing the project.
The project is being paid for through bonds bought by parents of students and alumni, meaning it will be owned by the school community.
