Barre, Vermont - August 24, 2010

Seven people will be charged in connection with a crime spree in Barre City.

Two of them are Nathan Witham, 17, and Jessica Delary, 16. They are accused of setting a fire that destroyed the old Key Bank building on Memorial Day.

Investigators say Witham and Delary-- along with five other people between the ages of 18 and 35-- participated in the crime spree. Police say they broke into buildings and vehicles around the city, stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods and food to pay for their travel expenses to New York City. Police say more charges are pending in the case.

"They admitted to numerous car break-ins. It's hard to match them up to complaints we got, but they did admit to doing this multiple times," said Det. Larry Eastman of the Barre City Police Dept.

Three of the suspects are in police custody. Arrest warrants have been issued for the other four. They face a wide range of charges.
