Northfield, Vermont - September 6, 2010
Northfield has some three dimensional photographs on display in town and they're more than 50 years old.
Reuben M. McIntosh captured the town in the 1850s through 3-D images called stereo view photography. The Northfield Historical Society is showing a collection of his images as part of the Glass Negatives Project. The exhibit features images from McIntosh's original glass negatives of Northfield and other Vermont Towns.
"It's just really a nice type of photography, but nobody does it anymore because it's so lengthy and complicated," said Kay Schlueter, the exhibit's curator.
"There's been a wonderful response, seeing Northfield back in the (1850s). It's good, very good," said Ingrid Wilson with the Northfield Historical Society.
The exhibit runs through October 9th at the Northfield Historical Society.
