A southern Vermont man has died from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash.
Police say 59-year-old James Taranovich, of Proctor, lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a series of S curves on Route 153 in Rupert at 4:45 on Sunday afternoon. Two cyclists spotted Taranovich face-down in a swamp, trapped under his bike.
Police say when crews arrived Taranovich was in full cardiac arrest. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
The crash is still under investigation but police do not believe speed was a factor. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
