Pavone murder trial delayed

Tony Pavone Tony Pavone

Plattsburgh, New York - December 1, 2010

The trial of a Plattsburgh man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend won't happen until next year.

Prosecutors say 52-year-old Tony Pavone gunned down Patricia Howard and Timothy Carter at Carter's home in Dannemora back in January.

Jury selection in the first-degree murder trial was scheduled to begin Thursday, but Pavone has replaced his Plattsburgh attorney with a New York City-based lawyer. Exactly why he made the change is unknown but the move pushed the trial date back to 2011.
