Former Dean aide, WCAX reporter join Shumlin team

Gov.-elect Peter Shumlin has tapped a former Dean aide and a TV reporter to lead his communications team.

The Democrat announced that a familiar face at WCAX News-- Reporter Bianca Slota-- will be his press secretary. Slota has been a reporter at WCAX for the past three years and is a currently our Montpelier bureau chief.

Sue Allen who was former Gov. Howard Dean's press secretary will become a senior aide heading up communications strategy for Gov.-elect Shumlin. Allen is a former editor of the Barre Montpelier Times-Argus.

During the campaign, Shumlin pledged to slash the number of communication positions in state government to save money.
