Hey New Yorkers, chew this over: Officials want you to help choose an official state vegetable.
There's a bill before lawmakers looking to make onions the state vegetable. Another lawmaker is pushing a bill that would give the title to sweet corn. But the state Farm Bureau wants New Yorkers to weigh in.
Officials say cabbage may be a good choice because it's the biggest veggie crop in the state and New York is second in the nation in cabbage production. But what about pumpkins? New York is number one in the nation on that crop.
There's a poll up on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NYFarmBureau.
