NEW YORK (AP) - Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino says he believes Chris Christie won't support him because of the Bridgegate scandal. Astorino says he thinks his opponent, Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo, "has something" on the New Jersey governor. He did not say what it was.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York's ethics board has approved a 90-day pre-election blackout on appearances in public service announcements by statewide officials and legislators who are also candidates. The Joint Commission on Public Ethics regulations aimed at removing a campaign advantage apply to PSAs by nonprofit groups and the government.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Minnesota Wild left wing Thomas Vanek says he's cooperating with federal authorities conducting an investigation in Rochester. Local media report that Vanek was at the federal courthouse in Rochester to speak with officials. In statement released by his agent, Vanek says they have asked for his cooperation in an investigation. He says he's cooperating and isn't a target of the probe or prosecution.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A man who lost his hearing as a child and became a leading educator of the deaf and a pioneer of studies of deaf culture has died. Robert Panara was 94. Longtime friend and colleague Harry Lang says Panara died of natural causes Sunday at the Rochester nursing home where he lived. His career included teaching at Gallaudet University and the Rochester Institute of Technology.
