Lyndonville, Vermont - January 18, 2005
A teenager from Lyndonville faces charges of aggravated animal cruelty for allegedly assaulting a neighbor's dog back in October. Authorities say Jeffrey Plourde, 17, sodomized, strangled, and broke the animal's tail. The dog had to be euthanized after the attack.
Police are also investigating whether at least one other person held the chocolate lab while the assault occurred. Other arrests may be forthcoming. Plourde has a lengthy criminal record. He faces up to three years in jail if convicted.
