
In front of a packed and boisterous crowd at the Barre Auditorium, the Vermont Frost Heaves opened the pro basketball era in the Green Mountain State in style with a 117-87 win over Quebec City.
The Frost Heaves, playing their inaugural season in the American Basketball Association got balanced scoring in their home opener. Markus Austin led Vermont with 18 points. Tyrone Levett and Aaron Cook added 16 as the Frost Heaves improve to 2-1 on the season.
Vermont's next game will be their debut in their other home gym, Burlington's Memorial Auditorium, Saturday night at 7:05pm against Buffalo.
