Former Vt. Guardsman Killed In Car Crash

Charlestown, New Hampshire - February 8, 2007

A former Vermont National Guardsman, who recently served in Iraq, has been killed in a car crash.

29-year-old Justin Beam of Bellows Falls died Wednesday in a head-on collision with another car in Charlestown, New Hampshire. Police say the accident happened when the driver of the other car hit a guardrail, sending him across the road and into Beam's vehicle.

Beam returned from Iraq last year after spending more than a year there.

He leaves behind a wife and three sons.
