Barack is Back in N.H.

Hanover, New Hampshire -- May 28, 2007

What was all but an official endorsement, Congressman Paul Hodes introduced Senator Barack Obama to packed audience at Dartmouth college. Obama, said that Americans have to regain what it is that makes America great.

"And it is that spirit, that idea that we have lost over the last several years," Obama said.

Obama, who is a first term senator out of Illinois has been criticized by some for lacking experience and substance needed to be President. But those in attendance here today said that might just be what this country needs.

"Sometimes you need a person with fresh ideas, fresh opinions someone who may not have the experience who is just going to jump in there and work hard," said supporter Ashley Satterfield.

Obama answered questions form the press after the event. He said he has given detail plans, but the press hasn't picked up on them. Like, he said, a recent speech on foreign oil consumption.

"Which is also posted on the internet which is the most detailed, the most specific in the transportation sector how we will decrease our consumption of foreign oil," Obama said.

In front of national media and on Memorial day, Obama also talked about the war in Iraq.  More specifically, what he would say to either a soldier on the ground or a general who believes in what they are doing in Iraq, that what they are doing is working, and that it just needs more time and more money.

"Well what I would say is I am thankful of the can-do spirit of the U.S. Military," Obama said.

He went on to say that the war needs a political solution -- not a military one. Something, he told the packed crowd, will help America regain its stance in the world.

"We are going to go before the world and say American is back, that we are ready to turn the page on our foreign policy," Obama said.

"I think we are ready for a new face in politics and I think he has got the right thing," said supporter Phil Jewett.

Obama will be a Memorial Day celebration Monday evening in Davenport, Iowa.  A state, like New Hampshire, that has it's finger on the pulse of presidential campaigning.
