Concord, New Hampshire - September 17, 2007
Monday, New Hampshire goes smoke free.
Smoking is no longer allowed in bars and restaurants. Any public gathering, like a bingo night, will also have to put out the cigarettes.
Smokers who violate the law are subject to a $100 fine. Business owners will be fined $200 dollars for multiple offenses.
The Granite State was the last in New England to go smoke free.
Supporters said the ban was needed to protect people from the health risks of second-hand smoke.
