Winooski, Vermont - January 4, 2008
The Champlain Mill in Winooski is closed Friday, after a fire broke out inside.
Investigators say the building sustained $300,000 in damage, primarily on the fifth floor. The fire was ruled accidental.
Meanwhile managers at the Champlain Mill say the building will be closed Friday. Crews need to clean up and evaluate the electrical systems in the building. Additional environmental tests also need to be conducted, because mercury is being removed from the building.
The Champlain Mill is expected to reopen on Monday.
