The second in command of the Windham County Sheriff's Department is under investigation.

Sheriff Keith Clark announced Monday that he suspended Captain Heidi Nelson until further notice. Clark said in a statement he received information that Nelson engaged in a relationship with a 17-year-old student at the Windham Regional Career Center in Brattleboro. She teaches law enforcement classes there, and is the school resource officer.

The sheriff's department and the state police are investigating.
