Judge Won't Order Stop to Spying

Burlington, Vermont - September 16, 2008

A Chittenden Superior Court judge will not stop a private detective from spying on the survivor of a carbon monoxide poisoning in Burlington.

25-year-old Ginger Aldrich suffered brain damage three years ago, when carbon monoxide leaked at the Redstone Apartments near UVM. She is now suing New England Air Systems.

Aldrich and her family claim that someone working for the company has been following her and spying on the family's home. The lawyer for New England Air Systems admits a private detective has been watching the Aldriches.

A Chittenden County Superior judge said he won't stop the spying. Instead he suggested they file for a protective order in criminal court.
