A Rutland County businessman is facing up to 25 years in prison for illegally dumping hazardous waste.
Prosecutors say 58-year-old David McLellan, the owner of McLellan Enterprises and Autosales, buried almost two dozen, 55 gallon drums of waste oil on his property on Route 7 in Danby.
Some of them were leaking.
Investigators say when they inspected the site, they could smell petroleum and found puddles of oil on the ground.
