Michael Mello

An internationally known writer on the death penalty and criminal law who lived in Vermont has died. Michael Mello passed away Sunday at his home after a short illness. He was 51.
Mello lived in White River Junction and worked at the Vermont Law School for the past decade.
Outside the classroom he was well-known for representing inmates on death row and for his publications about capital punishment. Mello even served as a legal adviser to the Unabomber.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
