BARRE, Vt. (AP) - A 31-year-old Williamstown man faces two felony counts - including his fourth drunken-driving charge - in a car crash that sent four people to the hospital.
Police say Eric Russell had a blood-alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit Sunday when he collided head-on on South Main Street with a car driven by 40-year-old William Peterson of Barre, which was carrying three children.
Authorities say Peterson suffered a shattered left femur, and injuries to his knee, shin, heel and two toes, as well as a broken sternum and head injury. Thirteen-year-old twins Ty and Logan Avery also were injured, while Peterson's 7-year-old daughter Shyla suffered bumps and bruises.
