Man Convicted of Whipping Cat to Death

Claremont, New Hampshire - January 22, 2009

A man from Claremont, N.H., is facing jail time for animal cruelty.

A jury convicted 41-year-old Bruce Robie of whipping his neighbor's cat to death with a cord. During the trial, Robie argued he was framed, and that the cat was runover by a car and placed on his porch by the cat's owner, who he does not get along with.

Robie faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced.
