Young people with physical and developmental disabilities had a special opportunity to hit the ice Tuesday. It was part of a camp program called Partners in Adventure. The group went ice fishing and ATV riding on Malletts Bay. The non-profit has several activities planned for this school vacation week, including a bowling trip, movies, performances by entertainers and even an outing to the Northern Lights adventure course in Essex.
"My son talks about ice fishing all year and 4-wheeling, so this is definitely very exciting," said Deborah Lamden of Partners in Adventure. "We have never done the activities at Northern Lights before, so that will be new and different. Different kids love different things. One child can't wait til we go to the movies, so there's something for everybody."
Tuesday's activities were hosted by the outdoors enthusiasts who make up the group Hunters, Anglers, and Trappers Association of Vermont.
