Alexei Rubenstein joined the Channel 3 News team as a producer in 2003. He currently serves as a general assignment reporter, producer and web editor.
Alexei was the recipient of a 2014 Edward R. Murrow award for his series, "A Century at the State Hospital." He also shared in a 2012 Edward R. Murrow award for continuing coverage of Tropical Storm Irene and its aftermath.
Prior to moving to Vermont, Alexei was a reporter for Alaska Public Radio Network member stations KDLG in Dillingham and KBBI in Homer. He has also worked as an assistant editor on several documentary films produced for PBS.
He received his B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He also holds an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
In addition to journalism, Alexei has worked as everything from a cargo handler in Antarctica, to a trail crew leader in Wyoming. He grows hops, chickens and garlic with his family in central Vermont.
