Melissa started at WCAX in 2011, halfway through her senior year of college, as a reporting and production intern. Upon graduation, she became an associate producer for "The :30." In 2012, she became our Plattsburgh bureau reporter and weekend anchor. Melissa returned to her home state in 2013 to pursue a position as a general assignment reporter for News 12 Connecticut.

In 2014, Melissa attended the New York Emmys as a nominated reporter for her military feature covering homeless and jobless veterans in the state. In 2014, she won a New York Press Club Award for her consumer reporting on winter conditions and snow removal. In 2014 and 2015, she won Connecticut SPJ Awards for her crime and local reporting.

While Connecticut is the place she was born and raised, Melissa considers the Green Mountain State her home away from home. She attended Champlain College as a Mass Communications student and considers Bromley Mountain in southern Vermont like a second home. She has been back and forth with her family for ski getaways since she was a little kid.

Melissa spends her free time with her husband, her Australian Cattle Dog, Trusty, and visiting her big family. A good Disney movie also never fails her! If you have any story ideas or just want to get to know Melissa, send her an email at sheketoff@wcax.com. She can't wait to meet you!
