ALBERTA, Canada (WCAX) A long-lost engagement ring turned up in the oddest way.
Mary Grams of Alberta, Canada, lost her ring 13 years ago while gardening on her family farm. She searched and searched but eventually gave up and got a replacement. But this week she got a call from her daughter-in-law who said she found the ring wrapped around a carrot growing in the garden.
"She said, 'Did you lose an engagement ring?' And I said, 'Yes.' And then she started laughing," Grams said. "Inside it makes me kind of happy."
The ring is now back on her finger where it belongs. As for the carrot? Grams says it's headed for the soup pot.
