Jason Lafountain and Amanda Yelle

RAY BROOK, N.Y. (WCAX) Police have arrested two people for criminally negligent homicide in the death of a Northern New York man.

Jason Guay, 42, was found dead on State Route 11 in Mooers back on March 5.

Thursday, after a five-month investigation, New York State Police arrested Jason Lafountain, 34, and Amanda Yelle, 26, both of Mooers, for criminally negligent homicide. Police say Guay was highly intoxicated when the pair dropped him off at his house the night before his body was found. Police say overnight temperatures dipped to -5 degrees. Guay's body was discovered about 500 feet from his home. The coroner said Guay died of hypothermia and ruled the death accidental.

Lafountain and Yelle were arraigned and released. They're due back in court Sept. 14.
