4 charged in connection with Burlington overdose death

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Burlington Police have charged several people in connection with the overdose death of a woman in August.

Authorities say the 43-year-old woman died from a fatal mix of drugs including Fentanyl..

Last Thursday police raided the same Pearl Street apartment complex where the victim died and seized cocaine, heroin, cash and a loaded hand gun. They also arrested Christopher Handy,Terrance Tinsley and Rashad Nashid.

Handy and Nashid were arraigned on drug charges and released on conditions. Tinsley was charged in federal court for drug trafficking and remains in jail. A fourth man, Aavi Nommik, was cited to appear on misdemeanor cocaine charges.

Police say two other addicts related to the death were referred to drug treatment.
