Barre principal charged with drugged driving

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) Barre City Middle School's principal faces charges of allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.

Michael Dreiblatt

Vermont State Police say Michael Dreiblatt was stopped Monday afternoon in Shaftsbury and arrested for DUI-drugs. Police say Dreiblatt was high on marijuana behind the wheel and was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Barre Superintendent John Pandolfo issued a statement to Channel 3 confirming Dreiblatt is no longer at the school. He said he can't comment on Dreiblatt's departure because it is a confidential personnel matter.

Parents we spoke to outside the school Tuesday afternoon were not aware of Dreiblatt's arrest or job status.
