MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) Randy Brock is returning to the Vermont state Senate.

Governor Phil Scott Wednesday announced that the former state auditor, and two-term Senator from Swanton will fill the seat of Dustin Degree, who stepped down from the Senate last month to serve as special assistant to the Governor and director of workforce expansion.

Brock also ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2012 and for lieutenant governor in 2016.

In a statement, Scott called Brock "a dedicated public servant" with invaluable experience in the private sector and in the legislature.
