CDC study: American adults need more fruits, veggies

ATLANTA (WCAX) A new study says you probably need to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found just one in 10 adults in the U.S. eats enough fruits and vegetables every day to meet federal recommendations.

Those guidelines recommend adults eat at least 1.5-2 cups of fruit and 2-3 cups of vegetables daily, depending on gender and age.

The study found more women meet the recommendations than men, and young adults 18-30 are the least likely to be getting enough fruits and veggies.
