OTTAWA, Ontario (WCAX) A new law in Canada aims to speed up border screenings.
Parliament passed a preclearance agreement. It allows Canadians visiting the U.S. to clear U.S. Customs while still on Canadian soil.
Lawmakers on the U.S. side of the border are hailing the move, saying it will improve trade, tourism and national security.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it has 15 preclearance centers at airports in six countries.
