BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Burlington.
Hundreds gathered on Church Street Friday evening to see the Christmas tree glow from the top of the marketplace. Blue, green, red and white lights donned the 45-foot tree from Rick Bryant. Earlier this month he told us it's been in the backyard of his Union Street home for 30 years. A little windy out there for the event but the Vermont families we spoke with say they love coming to the Queen City for the tree lighting.
"We had a blast, we do it every year since these guys were tiny, now were grown up, we still come because it's Burlington and it starts our season," said Reg Ploof, from Essex.
The tree lighting was part of many Queen City events that took place on Church Street to get folks in the holiday spirit.
