Cold temperatures haven't stopped some ski mountains from closing

JAY PEAK, Vt. (WCAX) Although it is spring, winter weather continues to play a factor around our region. But the cold temperatures haven't stopped some ski mountains from closing for the season.

Multiple mountains ended their skiing and riding season this weekend, including Bolton Valley, Burke Mountain, Stowe, Smugglers Notch and Stratton. Bromley Mountain, Pico, Magic Mountain and Mad River Glen are also closed.

If you're looking to get in some late season turns, Jay Peak is open through next Sunday, The goes to weekend-only skiing and riding through May 6th. Mount Snow and Okemo close April 30th. Whiteface in Lake Placid is closed this week but will open up for its final weekend on Friday.

Sugarbush is open for daily skiing until next Sunday and will move to weekend only skiing and riding through May 6. Gore Mountain in New York is closed, but officials say they are doing their best to open up next weekend. Killington has yet to announce an end of season date yet. Officials say they hope to continue skiing until June 1.
