Dump truck crash spills manure into Conn. River

BRADFORD, Vt. (WCAX) A dump truck crashed in Bradford, sending a load of manure into the Connecticut River.

It happened Wednesday afternoon along Route 25.

Police say Michael Cassidy, 50, of Bradford, was driving the Mack dump truck when he rolled over a curve going onto the Piermont Bridge. Manure spread over the road and ran into the river.

Cassidy and his passenger weren't hurt but the truck was totaled and the guard rails were destroyed. The crash closed the road for several hours.
